The Power of Virtual Events.

With the pandemic, everything has changed. Things that you have taken for granted are being changed. Safety is the number one priority and the safest place to be is at home.

If you were planning on having a big event, you may want to consider going virtual. Here are some reasons why.

  • Nobody has any idea when it will be safe to have events again.
  • You put a lot of time, money, and hard work into your event and that shouldn’t go to waste!

Thinking about going virtual? Here are some tips to help you get started.

Make sure that everyone is on board. Not only do you have to notify the people who are helping you plan the event, you also need to talk to all of your speakers and vendors. They need as much time as possible to make the necessary changes so that their presentation will work when done online instead of in person.

Choose the right platform. There are many virtual conference platforms to choose from, so it is important that you take the time that you need to decide which one will work best for you and your event. Though many are using Zoom, there are many options, including some that seem to be geared towards trade shows.

Then, you need to let everyone else know. You should let everyone who was planning to attend know. Let them know about the changes and what you are expecting to happen. You may want to type up detailed notes about how everything should work, from the lectures, the vendors, and even how you are going to let everyone network too!

Don’t worry if you lose some participants. Not everyone is going to be on board and that is ok. Give them their money back and let them go easily. You should be able to fill their spots (and maybe even add some more) because you aren’t limited by the size of the building anymore!

Though you may be devastated that your event will have to change, the truth is that you can still have a great time (with some extra work). Just get everyone on board,  find the right platform and get ready for the show!
